About 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012, Shell Express Lane Manager Pat Weidel presented Fireman Rob Hudson $733.25 in raffle money, raised for the Morrison Fire Department’s “Caring for Our Community,” 3rd Annual Kids Toy Drive.

The main raffle item was a 39″ Emerson flat screen television.  It will be enjoyed “in the basement” by Dale and Marcia Wiersema of Morrison, IL.  Enjoying the exchange were Fire Chief Dave Benters, left, and Santa Claus.

This rosy-cheeked Santa began his duties at age 17 in 1978, working at NorthPark Mall in Davenport, IA.  He had been available to local children from 1:00 to 3:00.

Rick Tessendorf won the drawing for a Chicago Bears porcelain house;  Kelli Welding won the Green Bay Packers version.   Several door prizes were awarded, too.

You can drive-through-and-drop-off donated unwrapped toys at the Morrison Fire Station, 206 W. Main Street, on Saturday, December 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00.  Firefighters and helpful “elves” will handle the sorting and wrapping, prior to their two-night delivery to Morrison children.
