Albert A. “Sparky” Forster, 74, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Illinois Veterans Home at Lasalle in Lasalle, IL.

Sparky was born May 22, 1948, in Thomaston, GA, to Henry J. and Mildred C. (Reeves) Forster. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He married Cheryl D. Wolfe on August 7 ,1970, in Colorado Springs, CO. Sparky was employed by the City of Morrison Water Department for over 25 years, retiring in 2000. He was a lifelong member of the Morrison VFW Post #328. He was a car enthusiast and loved to refurbish them. Sparky was an avid drag racing fan and enjoyed watching Westerns as well as traveling to Colorado.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; son, Jason (Kari) Forster of Morrison; three grandchildren, Blake (Ellie) Forster of Morrison, Chasitee (Ian) Remrey of Clinton, IA, and Emma Youngquist of Mt. Carroll, IL; five great-grandchildren, Harper, Tinley, and Lainey Remrey, and Jacob and Payton Forster; sisters, Ruby Thornton of Fulton, IL, Patricia Meder of KY, and Marilyn Wilkins of Fulton; brother, Steve (Angie) Forster of Jacksonville, FL; special friend, Walter Cage of Syracuse, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Forster; sister, Maria Huizenga.

His Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Ken Renkes officiating. Military honors will follow.

A memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL, at a later date.

Memorials have been established to Autism Speaks, Wounded Warrior Project,and Happy Tails.
