Morrison April 20 School Board Meeting

The Morrison School Board met on Monday, April 20, 2026, with all Board members in attendance.

The filling of teaching positions for the 2026-2027 school year were noted; there currently are five openings.  There are hopes that those positions will be filled from the current list of available applicants.

In other personnel action, the following actions were noted.

  • Resignations:
    • Lynette Foree – MHS F/S Volleyball Coach
    • Azaylia Ramos – MHS Cheer Coach
    • Shawn Swaim –  MHS Varsity Boys Basketball Coach
  • Retirements:
    • Lisa Vanderlaan – Northside Cafeteria
    • Kim Hunter – JH Classroom Paraprofessional
    • Jeff Brands – MHS Day Custodian
  • Hires:
    • Gary Nickell – MHS Day Custodian
    • Matt Lucas – MHS Night Custodian
    • Ashley Anderson – MHS Office Manager
    • Peyton Ward – JH History Teacher
    • Michelle Munson – HS Guidance Counselor
    • Tristan Munroe – Speech and Language Pathologist

The Board approved the following by a unanimous vote.

  • Approval of asbestos removal and disposal for Northside Elementary
  • Amendment to the Health Life Safety Plan
  • Approval of the Facility Improvement Plan that impacts all buildings
  • Funds for improvements to come from the Health Safety Funds, sales tax revenue, and bonds.

The Morrison School Board of Education will meet again at 6:00 p.m. at the District Office (100 E. Knox Street) on Monday, May 18 2026.
