Dogs are Barking: Fencing Is Coming!

Posted by

The City of Morrison donated $12,500 to the Morrison Bark Park, on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17, 2022. Those funds combined with $5000 from Morrison Area Development Corporation (MADC) have made it possible to raise the fence, by the end of May or June. Stay tuned for information about when installation will begin. Updates are posted on the On the Move with Parks and Recreation’s (OTM) Facebook page.

Mark your calendar for Boogie Woogie Bingo at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds, Saturday, June 18. Details will follow.

Donations for the Morrison Bark Park are still needed for amenities: benches, signage, foliage, trees, and shrubs, for example. Morrison Garden Club will lend their expertise. Morrison Rotary Club will donate a shelter inside the fencing.

To memorialize or honor a beloved dog or dog lover, purchase a brick paver for the entrance. It can be engraved with three lines, using up-to-15 characters per line. The cost is $75. Bricks will be engraved on site. Come watch the process!

Donations in any amount should be made at Morrison TBK Bank, 200 W. Main Street, Morrison IL 61270. Please make checks payable to Morrison Lions Foundation, NFP with notation on both check and envelope that says “Morrison Dog Park.”
