4-H Rabbit Workshop, January 18 | 6:30 p.m. Whiteside Extension Office, Sterling
At this rabbit workshop for youth ages 8-18, we will learn proper rabbit showmanship, education on rabbit breeds, and how to show rabbits. We will also make rabbit arm guards and have a Q&A. You do not need to bring your rabbit, but if you would like to, that is okay. If you are not bringing a rabbit, please specify in the rsvp so we can bring enough animals. Please bring a pencil, a notebook, an apron and an old pair of long socks. Register by emailing Allie at lancast@illinois.edu or calling the Whiteside Extension office at 815-632-3611.

Money management education through University of Illinois Extension’s free Get Savvy webinar series empowers students, young adults, and anyone seeking financial fitness skills with the confidence to make smart decisions about money to build a stronger financial foundation. Pruning Shade Trees | Four Seasons Gardening, January 31, February 28, March 7 | 1:30 p.m. Online
Seasons come and go, but home gardening never stops. Pick up the knowledge you need to maintain a safe and healthy home landscape, create friendly spaces for indoor plants, and support a resilient environment by joining Illinois Extension Four Seasons Gardening’s horticulture experts. Tea Party | Big and Small Gardening, February 7 | 6:00 p.m. Winfred Knox Library, Franklin Grove, IL
Wouldn’t it be terrific for all ages to learn more about gardening? The Lee County Master Gardeners have started a gardening series called “Big and Small Gardening.” This series will be held at the Winfred Knox Library in Franklin Grove, the first Tuesday of each month, with alternating months offering a youth program at 4:00 p.m. or an Adult program at 6:00 p.m. Tea Party will be held February 7 at 6:00 p.m. Register for these programs by calling the library at 815-456-2823. I Drank What! | Saturday with a Master Gardener, February 11 | 10:00 a.m. to Noon Whiteside Extension Office, Sterling
The Illinois Extension Whiteside Master Gardeners offer a “Saturday with a Master Gardener Series.” Explore gardening on the second Saturday of each month starting February 11, at the Whiteside Extension office, 12923 Lawrence Road, Sterling, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Gain knowledge on hydrangeas, milkweed, seed collecting, and much more. “I Drank WHAT! II” will be the topic for February. Pick your poison and get to know the more infamous plants and their toxins. Know which plants are dangerous and protect your family, pets, and animals. Registration is required and can be completed at go.illinois.edu/whitesidesaturdays.
