During December’s Advent season, celebrate Advent Vespers with the Sisters of St. Francis at The Canticle, 841 13th Avenue N, Clinton, IA, on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Reflections will be based on the theme, “In the Light of Hope.”
Topics are December 8, Journeying in Hope–Joseph; December 15, Let it Shine–Stars and the Shepherds; December 22, Light of Hope–Birth of Jesus.
An Advent Day of Reflection, facilitated by Father Ed Shea, OFM, will be held Saturday, December 14, at The Canticle. The day begins at 10:00 a.m. and concludes with Mass at 4:00 p.m.
Based on Genesis 3 and John 1, Father Ed will call participants to reflect on the meaning of Advent and challenge them to take seriously the invitation to “watch and pray.”
He will also reflect on the “four commandments of contentment.”
