Morrison American Legion Post 328 and several volunteers (ages from 15 to 92) planted over 1000 flags on veterans’ graves, on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. The flags will stay in place until the 4th of June. Below, left-to-right, are veterans Robert Brands, Kenneth Gooley, and Barry Linder.

Pictured left to right are Chad Hudson, Bill Brackemyer, Rip (on all fours), Ken Brainerd, Larry Zuidema, Blake Adams, Shane Adams, Barry Linder, Ken Petersen, Rob Hudson, Lindsay Workman, Ken Gooley, Danielle Fulton, Terry Jones, Sarah Stralow, and Paige Leighton.

Volunteers not pictured are Brian Bartoz, Jim Bramm, Bob Brands, Jack Brearton, Jerry Brearton, and Rick Smith.

Additionally, Mrs Donna Geerts and her family continue the tradition, set forth by Al Geerts and other Legionnaires, of planting about 200 flags in over a dozen rural cemeteries. Many miles are accumulated [traveling to these cemeteries], and some have just a couple of veterans’ graves.
