Lorelei Rocha, 87, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, August 8, 2026, at LaBella of Morrison.
She was born December 17, 1938, in Sterling, IL. She was the daughter of Andy and Lenora (Schreiner) Blumer. Lorelei had a born-again experience at 40 years of age and received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She believed that we are all born lost and only His blood can save us. She loved to study the Bible and was particularly interested in prophecy and how the current world is lining up with Biblical scripture. Every day she spent time praying for others in need.
She earned a Bachelor and Master’s Degree from Chicago Musical College and was a professional Pianist in Chicago, IL, for more than 40 years. Her performances were reviewed in major newspapers. She was blessed with the gift of perfect pitch and could play hundreds of songs without ever seeing the music. She taught private piano lessons in her home and judged piano contests throughout the State. In her adolescent years she became ill from what is now known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS.) People who have this illness are often quiet and withdrawn, lack energy, and suffer from unusual symptoms. She spent her entire adult life coping with the illness and finding ways to deal with its many aspects.
Lorelei loved dogs and rescued many. The love she gave them and received back enriched her life. She had an artistic printing and writing style that was requested by many people and organizations for various uses. Lorelei enjoyed oil paintings and visiting fine art galleries.
She is survived by one daughter, Leah (Anthony) Fappiano, of Orlando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Andy Blumer.
A private Family Service was held with interment at Chadwick Cemetery in Chadwick, IL.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
