On Monday, January 5, 2026, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matthew DeBaene issued this letter.
The Morrison School District, in collaboration with the Morrison Education Association, the Morrison Support Staff Association, and the Morrison Schools Foundation, is proud to announce the launch of the “Investing in Our Own Talent Program.” This initiative is designed to build the District’s future, by encouraging Morrison High School graduates to pursue careers in high-need fields within the District and to return to serve their community.
The program’s core commitment is to provide Morrison High School graduates who complete a degree or certification in a district-employed role with a guaranteed interview for an open position. This includes roles such as Teachers, School Nurses, Speech-Language Pathologists, and various support staff positions.
Dr. Matthew DeBaene, Superintendent of the Morrison School District, emphasized the importance of the initiative. “Investing in our School District is incredibly important and a shared interest of our school community,” Dr. DeBaene stated. “This program is about fostering local talent and ensuring the best for our students, taught and cared for by those who understand our community best.”
The program is a joint venture, highlighting a shared commitment to the success of students and the strength of the community. It provides a clear pathway for graduates to come back home and build a fulfilling career.
Current Morrison High School Juniors and Seniors are invited to express their interest in the program by completing an application form. The applications are due to their English teachers by February 11, 2026.
