Cynthia A. “Cindy” Engelkens, 76 of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Rock River Hospice & Home.
She was born on July 3, 1949, in Morrison, the daughter of Frank and Addie Mae (Elliott) Gorzney. She married Paul Engelkens on July 8, 1967, in Malvern. He died October 10, 2025. Cindy had worked in the past at Vendo-Mac, the Ice Box, and in housekeeping at the former Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Prophetstown, IL. She was an active grandmother, supporting her grandchildren and attended their activities and sporting events. She loved her flower garden and bird watching.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Rob) Klein of Durand, IL; daughter-in-law, Cathy Shipp of Sterling, IL; four grandchildren, Ben Engelkens, Liz Engelkens, Brock Klein, and Brett Klein; brother, Walter (Sandi) Gorzney of Morrison; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Al Engelkens.
Visitation was on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls., IL
The funeral followed at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating.
Burial concluded at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL.
