Christine T. Crandall, 73, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, August 17, 2026, at her home.
Chris was born March 20, 1953, in Clinton, IA, to Kenneth and Arlene (Nissen) Johnson. She attended Clinton grade schools and was a graduate of Clinton High School. Following high school, she attended the former Mount St. Clare College in Clinton. Chris began working at Kopp’s Market in Clinton while she was still in high school and continued there for many years while raising her children. She later worked for Dr. Ortman and then for Dr. Fell, before most recently enjoying her time working at The Wild Rose Casino in Clinton. Chris grew up along the river, where she enjoyed just about anything that allowed her to be on the water, including skiing, swimming, and boating. She especially enjoyed trips to Canada and looked forward to the time spent traveling and making memories. A passionate collector and seller of Longaberger baskets, Chris took great pride in her collection. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren and the companionship of her beloved pets.
Survivors include her daughter, Jaime (Brian) Cooperider of Henderson, NV; son, Andy (Tawnya Carroll) Beranek of Morrison; two granddaughters, Mackenzie (Dalton) Moyle and Bee Cooperider; one great-grandson on the way; special aunt, Mary Ellen Brackemyer of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David and Jim Johnson.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery in Clinton, IA.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
