Sisters Shelby and Camryn Veltrop of the Morrison Fillies Basketball team each earned First Team All-Area, as selected by Sauk Valley Media. The sisters, Camryn (Freshman) and Shelby (Junior), are the daughters of Kelly and Todd Veltrop.
They were joined on the First Team by Jess Johns (Newman), Sam Tourtellot (Dixon), and Olivia Dinges (Amboy.)
The Veltrops’ statistics for the year are as follows:
Camryn: 15.0 points per game (4th); 10.1 rebounds per game (4th); 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals per game; 4.3 blocks per game (1st); IBCA All-State Honorable Mention.
Shelby: 16.0 points per game (2nd); 10.0 rebounds per game (5th); 4.0 assists per game (Tied for 2nd); 1.6 steals per game; 3.6 blocks per game (3rd); IBCA All-State Third Team; AP All-State Honorable Mention.
