Sorensen to Celebrate $23.7 Million East Moline Grant

On Tuesday, June17, 2025, Congressman Eric Sorensen will join local and State leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony, in the City of East Moline, IL, celebrating the $23.7 million RAISE grant awarded.  The location is Runner’s Park, 742 15th Avenue.  The event is from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

This major Federal investment will support East Moline’s master plan to
     ⊕ revitalize its downtown
     ⊕ improve accessibility
     ⊕ enhance pedestrian safety
     ⊕ stimulate economic development across the region.

The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant program is administered by the U. S. Department of Transportation (USDOT.)  It provides funding for surface transportation projects with significant local or regional impact in Illinois.  These grants are designed to support projects that enhance roads, rails, transit systems, and ports.  In Illinois, recent recipients included projects in Champaign-Urbana, Rock Island, and Galesburg, among others.
