Morrison Knights of Columbus sponsored a raffle to aid long-time Morrison resident, Ron Weimer. Winners were selected at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2014, during the Evening Farmers’ Market. They are listed below.
Weimer can often be found volunteering at local car shows, the Morrison Farmers’ Market, and Northern Illinois Center for Independent Living. He is in need of a new wheelchair, in order to keep him an active member of the community. Ron was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair for 30 years. Unfortunately, the life expectancy of a motorized wheelchair is about seven years, and insurance covers a portion of the expense.
Donations can be made towards a new “Ron Weimer Wheelchair” at Community State Bank, 220 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL.
