Margaret “Peggy” Jane Terry, 91, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Pleasant View Nursing Care & Rehabilitation Center, in Morrison, IL.
Peggy was born May 5, 1932, in Ackley, IA, to William and Laura (Yokum) Specht. She was a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. In 1950, she married Lyle Hill in Denver, CO, and they shared their lives for 30 years, until Lyle’s passing on November 11, 1980. She later married John Terry on September 24, 1988, in Erie, IL. He died March 8, 2024. Peggy held various jobs, including employment at Hills Garage in Albany, IL, and Maurits and Jost Insurance Agency in Morrison. She also served as the Township Clerk for 31 years. She was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church in East Moline, IL. Peggy’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan E. Fisher of Sterling, IL; sons, Robert (Tammy) Hill of Albany, William Hill of Indianapolis, IN, and Lawrence (Susan) Hill of Noblesville, TN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Maze of Bettendorf, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lyle Hill; second husband, John Terry; sisters, Jean Stanley and Bernice Shager; brothers, William D. Specht and Paul Specht.
There will be no Visitation or Funeral Service; a private graveside service at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL, will be held at a later date.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
