kathleen bealerKathleen Ann Bealer, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.

Kathy was born May 7, 1942, in Sterling, IL, to Marvin and Alice (Norman) Dykema.  She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a 1960 graduate of Morrison High School.  She graduated from beautician school in 1961.  On September 11, 2004, she married Dean A. Bealer in Morrison.  He died October 27, 2012.  Kathy worked for 15 years as a beautician/hairdresser in Morrison,along with Helen Rosenow.  She then operated Kathy’s Beauty Shop in her home for 28 years.  Later she worked for eight years as a beautician for Resthave Home.  She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and was involved with the church’s Lay Witness Missions, the Girl’s League, and the church choir.  She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and lead various Bible study groups.  Kathy enjoyed traveling, scrap booking, and cooking.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include sister, Merrial Allison of Morrison; brother, Brent (Charm) Dykema of Morrison; nieces and nephews, Michelle Taylor, Scott Allison, Elizabeth (Brent) Vollmer, Todd Allison, Kristy (Franz) Dykema-Jacobs, Darren Dykema; many great nieces and nephews; step-daughters, Marcia (Randall) Hekman of Grand Rapids, MI, and Patricia MacDonald of Laguna Beach, CA; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean; step-daughter, Susan Ritzenthaler; brother-in-law, Ralph Allison, Jr.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Interim Pastor Rev. Marv Jacobs and Ken Renkes co-officiating.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Fenton Cemetery in Fenton, IL.

Memorials to Ebenezer Reformed Church and Resthave Care & Rehabilitation have been established.
