Donald J. Trump campaigned on being the “peace” President. Now, he is dragging us into a costly military action in Venezuela, to distract from skyrocketing health care costs and the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
However, know this, Trump’s strikes on Venezuela are unconstitutional. Only Congress has the authority to declare war.
Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles said attacking targets on Venezuela’s mainland would force Trump to get Congressional approval. As of Tuesday, January 6, 2026, that had not occurred.
The justification for this war isn’t about stemming the flow of drugs. This is about regime change. Also, this military operation is about enriching oil corporations and billionaires.
If Trump really cares about drug trafficking, why did he pardon former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández? The latter conspired with some of the worst drug traffickers in the world, to bring more than 400 tons of cocaine into the United States!
The American people do not support a regime change war to seize oil in Venezuela! Nor do they want to foot the bill!
In November 2025, the majority of Americans said the Administration needed to explain what the U. S. intends, regarding any action.
70 percent of Americans oppose military action in Venezuela.
Three-in-four Americans also say Donald Trump would need Congressional approval, before taking military action in Venezuela. Included are just over half of Republicans.
Millions of Americans are facing rising prices and skyrocketing health care costs here at home. While–for the foreseeable future–the President is focused on dedicating our collective resources to run a Country 2000 miles away.
In his press conference, Trump said, “We are going to run [Venezuela], until such time we can do a safe, proper, and judicious transition.”
