Remember to keep Saturday, November 16, 2013, open for the annual Home for the Holidays Bazaar, hosted by Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. The bazaar will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Experience the fun on several levels: eat, shop, tour local homes.
The “pie ladies” have been working hard to supply blueberry, apple and pumpkin pies, among others, and they are guaranteed to be delicious! Don’t stop with just pies; be sure to check out all the homemade cookies, candies, and jams. They make wonderful treats for your family or special gifts.
The church walls will be bursting at the seams with local crafters and some crafters just outside the local area. Along with our favorite long-time crafters, new crafters have been added. They offer their amazing talents to provide a great place to do your holiday shopping. Don’t forget to add yourself to your shopping list and treat yourself!
Again this year, the bazaar features the Theme Basket Silent Auction. Some of the baskets will include Willow Tree figurines, Longaberger pitchers or baskets, Timberlake tickets, Casey’s, a Children’s basket, a fall basket, a Barbie basket, and a Christmas basket. One of the sports baskets will have an autograph of Gavin Floyd, Chicago White Sox pitcher. Baskets always provide a great selection for a perfect Christmas gift or a special purchase for yourself.
All the baskets are put together by the ladies of the church. They are so thankful for the gracious participation of the community, businesses, and church members for unique donations in the baskets. The auction begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at noon. Don’t worry if you are out and about touring homes. You do not need to be present should you have the winning bid.
Another annual featured event with the Morrison United Methodist Church’s Home for the Holidays Bazaar is their Home Tour. Five homes will be featured this year, decorated for fall, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. This tour is guaranteed to be a real treat; you won’t want to miss it. More information about the homes on the tour will be coming, so check your local news media for details.
The Home Tour begins at 9:00 a.m. and doors close at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the bazaar or in advance at the Morrison United Methodist Church office. You will receive a map and driving directions to all the homes. Contact the church office at 815-772-4030.
Plan to spend your day at all the events of the bazaar. Enjoy breakfast or lunch with friends at the bazaar. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Both are guaranteed to be delicious!
All the ladies of the church have been working hard and are excited for this year’s bazaar. They look forward to seeing you there!
