Hilda Foster, 98, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, August 23, 2026, at LaBella of Morrison.
Hilda was born September 18, 1927, in Morrison, the daughter of Bernie and Cora (Tiesenga) Pruis. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and graduated from Erie High School. She married Raymond A. Foster on February 23, 1949, in Morrison; they were the first couple to be married in Emmanuel Reformed Church. They shared their lives for over 55 years, before his passing on September 27, 2004. Hilda was employed by Volkman Furniture and General Electric before working at Morrison Hospital, where she retired after 26 years. She farmed alongside her husband, Ray, for many years. Hilda was a charter member of Emmanuel Church and volunteered at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation. She was an avid baker and was known for the many treats she made. She and Ray also enjoyed playing cards with their friends. Hilda loved playing the piano. Her greatest joy in life was attending church and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcia Todd of Morrison, Marlene Dorathy of Davenport, IA, Rhonda (John) Woods of Morrison, and Sharon (Steve) McLain of Morrison; son, Randy (Barb) Foster of Morrison; seven grandchildren, Kara Todd, Todd (Sarah) Dorathy, Travis (Tanika) Dorathy, Amber Woods, Zane Woods, Shelby (Charlie) Mantle, and Shay Foster; 12 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Aidan, Devin, Carson, Connor, James, Lewis, Blaze, Hailey, Ava, Bently, and Haiden; sister-in-law, Betty Pruis of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son-in-law, Raynord Dorathy; sister, Della Johnson; brothers, Jay, Fred, Dwayne, Menno, and Arthur Pruis.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Emmanuel Church in Morrison, IL, officiated by Rev. Luke Schouten, Pastor of Emmanuel Church.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
