Downtown business owners Lori and Dave Snow, of God’s Will Giving Center, 126 E. Main Street, Morrison, IL, gathered 27 people to help fill and wrap Easter baskets, at Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway. Staging took place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Lori told the Editor these would be gifted to families that would be unable to provide such holiday joy. Her list included 213 children whose parents had preregistered them. By the April Fool’s Day pick-up, Lori had included 69 additional kids. Some of the 282 colorful baskets are pictured.

With such steadfast volunteers and donors, the Snows have created a powerful means to serve others. Open hours are 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. “Often,” she stated, “I will get a text or call, asking if the person could stop by at another time or after work. I can not turn them away.”
More volunteers are wanted to manage the merchandise, stock shelves, and assist people with their items.
Anyone in need is welcome to visit God’s Will Giving Center and select items. No one pays a penny to take non-perishable food, diapers, clothing, furniture, toiletries, household or entertainment items, books, shoes–and everything in between! The center’s outreach to 250 families or individuals continues to increase. The Snows’ success is a mixed blessing.

Monthly costs continue to increase. God’s Will Giving Center, however, has monthly expenses of $6000, mostly fixed costs. The majority of that money comes from the pockets of Dave and Lori Snow. “We receive no Federal funding for [what happens] inside of the building,” she explained.
There is a critical need for more funding, from charitable organizations, businesses, merchants, clubs, philanthropists, and local residents. Regular, monthly donations of non-perishable food; deodorant; toilet paper; shaving cream; razors; dish and laundry soap would make a huge difference in the lives of those who depend on the Snows’ center.
Toilet paper must be rationed, because it is in such short supply. Families are allowed to take only one ROLL of toilet paper per week. If 250 readers of this press release contributed a “jumbo pack” of toilet paper each month, imagine the impact on families!
If 125 generous readers purchased deodorant or shaving cream in two-packs, for donation to the center, it rapidly would increase inventory of these necessary care items. An organization or service group could do the same.
The solution is steady, financial support (i.e., donations.) The $6000 a month out-of-pocket costs are not sustainable. Lori regretfully said she might have to omit purchasing food and personal care items, which have higher costs. God’s Will Giving Center could benefit from more citizens who are “givers” to the endeavor of Dave and Lori Snow.
