The Morrison City Council convened on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., without Aldermen Vern Tervelt and Mathew Tichler in attendance. The session opened with an update from Karla Burn, representing Morrison On the Move, about Kelly Park improvements.
Ordinance 26-02, ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MORRISON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO NUISANCES, SWIMMING POOLS, AND WATER FEATURES, TREE HOUSES AND ACCESSORY STRUCTURES, ZONING ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT, ADOPTING INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE, SIDEWALKS, AND OVERNIGHT PARKING IN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT was offered for discussion. An anticipated approval vote is scheduled for a future Council meeting.
Updates of the Water and Streets Infrastructure Plan were noted, allowing the plan to be included in the 2027 Budget for acceptance in April.
Proposed budget expenditures were offered for inclusion into the 2027 Budget, relating to the City of Morrison Anniversary and the Morrison Fire Department 150th Anniversary. Final approval of the expenditures will be included in the approval vote of the 2027 Budget, scheduled for the second meeting in April.
Final action of the evening included a request from the Morrison Fire Department, asking for support from the City in funding the remodeling of the exterior of the 206 W. Main Street location. The estimated cost of the renovation was approximately $200,000.
Morrison City Council meetings are held in the City of Morrison Community Room, at Odell Public Library, and are open to the public beginning at 6:30 p.m., on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
