Carol Armstrong died Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Carol Armstrong was born January 13, 1948, the daughter of E. L. and Janet (Hawkins) Schoaf. She Married Dale Armstrong March 7, 1969. She graduated from the Unionville grade school and Morrison High School in 1966. She received her BA and MA from Western Illinois university. Carol taught in several grade schools, Bi-County Special Education Coop, and students in the Whiteside County Jail. She was a Counselor at Rock Falls High School, Morrison High School, and Sterling High School.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan (Christia) Armstrong and their children, Oliver, Elliott Jo, and Marshall; son David Armstrong and his daughter Eve; son-in-law, Greg (Elish) Banks and their children, Ethan Melcher, Olivia Melcher, Nico Battaglia, Zoey Banks, Gavin Terrock, and Logan Banks; sister-in-law, Kathy Schoaf; brother-in-law Mike Engle; very special friend, Susan Vance.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; stepfather, Edward Buikema; daughter Jennifer Banks; brothers Chuck and Jim Schoaf.
Honoring her wishes, there will not be a Visitation or Service.
A private burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, IL.
Any memorial considerations should be given to Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, Morrison, in honor of the exceptional care that they provided.
