On Monday morning, May 20, 2013, Bob Vaughn, above left, was filled with anticipation. “The first new brick on [a] Market Street [building] will be layed today!” he announced.
The men who made that happen are, left-to-right:
- Eric Elmendorf, Elmendorf Masonry, Inc. of Sterling, IL
- mason John Sumption
- laborer Derek Bushman.
The south wall of Vaughn’s rental property at 207 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, soon will house Extreme Image Salon, currently situated at 11464 Garden Plain Road, Morrison. Owner Erin James also is full of anticipation for her June opening. Additionally, Anna Ryder, owner of annabella’s at 207 E. Main Street, will move into the same space, a former pet store.
It took little coersion for Vaughn to take up trowel and lay brick on course seven. This same brick will complete the south facade of the triptych of buildings he and wife Debby call the Donnybrook Bakery Cafe (201, 203, and 205 E. Main Street.)
