Countryside Construction completed the first shelter at the Morrison, IL, Dog Park on Wednesday, July 21, 2022. This photo was taken the day before. This inaugural shelter was sponsored by Rotary Club of Morrison.
Editor’s note: Karla Burn of On the Move with Parks and Recreation, reported there will be a second shelter in the fenced area for smaller dogs. Additionally, three benches have been pledged; three more are desired. The public may also contribute to the cost of a few necessary trash cans. [They will be used for both dog waste and human trash; owners must take away their dogs’ excrement.] Sponsorships are welcomed. Contact Burn at 815-535-6591.
Additional action is forthcoming. River City Fence Co. recently completed measurements for the fencing, anticipating construction in the near future. [Burn noted Moore Monument will begin engraving names on the red, entry pavers in mid-August.]
