Arlene F. Dykstra (1938 – 2026)

Arlene J. Dykstra, 88, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, June 29, 2026, at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison.

Arlene was born March 22, 1938, in Fulton, IL, to Frank and Tena (Pessman) Feldt.  She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School.  Arlene married John J. Dykstra on October 12, 1956, in Fulton.  Together, they farmed in the Morrison area throughout their married life while raising their family.  They shared their lives for 50 years before his passing on October 17, 2006.  Arlene dedicated many years to Morrison High School, where she worked in the cafeteria and eventually served as Cafeteria Director before retiring.  She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton.  She loved tending to her garden, reading, and completing word search puzzles.  Above all, Arlene cherished time spent with her family and friends.  Her greatest happiness came from being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandson, who brought her endless pride and joy.

Survivors include one daughter, Marcia (Larry) Heinitz of Morrison, IL; one son, Michael (Cindy) Dykstra of Channahon, IL; seven grandchildren, Jenny (Nathan) Anderson, Mathew (Lacey) Tegeler, Jacquelyn (Scott Gifford) Tegeler, Michael (Lora) Dykstra, Andrew (Agnes) Dykstra, Angie (Brian) Waugh, and David (Kelly) Dykstra; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Wilma Vander Eide of Fulton, IL, Ruth Dykema of Morrison, IL, and Karen (Allen) Tiesman of Fulton, IL; and one brother, Paul (Mary Tack) Feldt of Clinton, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Alan Dykstra; sister, Dorothy Bielema.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m., until the time of the service, on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Her Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Ken Renkes officiating.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.

A memorial has been established.
