Lions Club Morrison Area Recycle Day is Saturday, April 18, 2026. This annual event will be at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds, 201 W. Winfield Street, Morrison, IL, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We reserve the right to refuse any item, because there are many things we cannot accept for recycling. Contact Flora at 815-772-4874 or e-mail fstralow@mchsi.com with questions.
Sponsored by Farmers National Bank, a truck will provide free and unlimited paper shredding. Also, paper products including cardboard, magazines, soft covered books, and newspapers will be collected. Hard covered books cannot be accepted.
Aluminum cans will also be collected. Items accepted include scrap metal such as small household appliances, power and lawn tools, washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, dehumidifiers, freezers, water tanks, etc. Electronics include computers, fax machines, telephones, camcorders, CD/DVD players, microwaves, VCRs, keyboards, modems, projectors, printers, scanners, shredders, string lights, and cords. No TV’s or monitors will be accepted. Ammunition will also be accepted.
Morrison Police will accept old prescriptions, OTC medications, vitamins, and pet medications. Place loose pills in a clear plastic bag. No bottles, needles, syringes, or liquids will be accepted.
Lions will accept eyeglasses, hearing aids, keys, cell phones, and American flags. Used pairs of sneakers and tennis shoes with matching pairs tied together will be collected. Small printer ink cartridges will be collected.
Lead acid batteries, including 6, 12, and 24 volt, from vehicles, mowers, motorcycles, boats, RVs and heavy equipment will be collected. Used motor oil can be dropped off at Kunes Country Auto Group, 627 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, during the event.
The accepted items will be gathered for free. However, monetary donations are gratefully accepted with proceeds supporting Lions projects, Morrison FFA, Key Club, Scouts BSA, and other local organizations.
