During the Christmas Walk weekend, Donnybrook Bakery Café, 203 W. Main Street, Morrison, IL, welcomes the public to enjoy holiday cheer, the Petry sisters’ Scottish and Irish Christmas carols, and an appetizer designed by new apprentice Molly Colberg. The establishment will be open Friday, December 4, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The expanded lunch menu runs from 11:00 a.m. through the supper hours. Pulled Pork Sliders are available Saturday evening for $2. Try “Molly’s Morsels,” too, to kick off the restaurant’s Chef Apprentice Program..
The Petry sisters of Morrison, Olivia, left, and Anna Marie, stated owner Bob Vaughn, “will perform melodic and sometimes mystic old world music. Billed as Anna Liv Strings, listen to Scottish and Irish Christmas Carols sung by these very talented young women, as they bring the spirit of the season into your soul.” Set up is 4:00 p.m. They are scheduled to perform from 5:00 to 7:00, but likely will begin earlier.
He added, “We grind our beans for every cup of coffee, including decaffeinated.” In the morning, have a regular or flavored coffee or one of a dozen teas with fresh, homemade baked goods.
Want something more spirited? Donnybrook Irish Coffee is made with only real Irish Jameson whiskey. Have a Christmas Walk specialty drink, the Donnybrook Toddy–made with Irish Celtic Honey.
Vaughn added, “We have items to make holiday gift baskets or a hostess gift. Check us out, and taste the fresh!”
