Editor’s note: On Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026, members of Morrison Ministers Council will hold short worship services, including Communion, at three residential care centers. 2026 Holy Week Services are listed for 14 Morrison, IL, area churches. Holy Week is from Palm Sunday, March 29, through Easter Sunday, April 5. Know that each Church welcomes new, lapsed, and long-time residents–as well as visitors–to attend their services.

† Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, will hold a 9:00 a.m., March 29, Palm Sunday ritual, beginning with the “Blessing of the Palms” in the Fellowship Room, and then processing into the Sanctuary, while singing “All Glory, Laud, and Honor.” Holy Communion will be celebrated. A potluck breakfast will follow at 10:30. The Maundy Thursday, April 2, service with Holy Communion is at 7:00 p.m. Included is a symbolic stripping of the altar/chancel space, symbolizing Christ being stripped of his power and handed to his captors. Sanctuary lights will be dimmed; scripture will be read; the service ends in silence. The April 3, contemplative, candlelit, Tenebrae Good Friday worship at 7:00 p.m. will focus on the cross. Easter Morning worship, Sunday, April 5, is at 9:00 a.m., and features Holy Communion and special music by the Senior Choir. Light refreshments will follow in the Fellowship Room.
† Brethren in Christ Church, 209 E. Knox Street, will hold a Maundy Thursday, April 2, Foot Washing Service at 6:00 p.m., with Holy Communion offered, followed by a free dinner at 6:45. All are welcome to attend. Easter Sunday, April 5, begins with an outside Sonrise message by Deacon Dan Rinker at 9:00 a.m. A potluck brunch follows at 9:15. The 10:30 the Easter Resurrection service will be delivered by Reverend Dorance Calhoun.
† Church of Saint Anne-Episcopal, 401 N. Cherry Street, Palm Sunday, March 29, at 9:00 a.m., Holy Eucharist Rite I, Liturgy of the Palms, and the Passion Gospel according to Matthew. Good Friday, April 3, Good Friday Liturgy and Passion Gospel according to John and Stations of the Cross, 5:00 p.m. Holy Saturday Liturgy, on Holy Saturday, April 4, 7:00 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 5, Holy Eucharist Rite II with hymns, 7:30 a.m. with Fr. Kevin Emge. Coffee hour follows.
† Crossroads Community Church, 300 W. South Street, at 7:00 p.m., on Good Friday, April 3, The Victory Center will present a live, musical drama about the life of Christ: “The Witness.” The public is invited. There will be two worship services on Easter Sunday, April 5, at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. KidzLink Sunday School will be available for children during both services. Multiple Baptisms will take place. † Ebenezer Reformed Church, 309 E. Park Street, during the Maundy Thursday service at 6:00 p.m. on April 2, Holy Communion will be offered. On Easter Sunday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m., the Resurrection Celebration begins in the Sanctuary. There then will be a children’s Egg Hunt on the east lawn.
† Emmanuel Church, 202 E. Morris Street, will hold a Maundy Thursday service, at 7:00 p.m. on April 2, which includes Holy Communion. On Easter Sunday, April 5, worship service is at 9:00 a.m. Featured music will include the Praise Team and Sanctuary Choir. Coffee hour will follow.
† First Presbyterian Church of Morrison, 100 E. Lincolnway, will hold 10:15 a.m. Holy Week in-person services and via live-streaming. Palm Sunday, March 29, includes processing with palms in the Sanctuary. Maundy Thursday service is April 2 at 7:00 p.m., with Holy Communion. † Kingdom Life Community Church, 11429 Ward Road, coffee will be served before the Easter service on Sunday, April 5, at 10:00 a.m.; Holy Communion will be offered. A Nursery is available for infants-to 3-year-olds. Children’s Church is available for ages 4-to-second grade, who will be dismissed during the Easter service.
† Morrison First Baptist Church, 406 Maple Avenue, will celebrate a Palm Sunday Sermon with palms, on March 29, at 10:00 a.m. The Easter Sunday, April 5, service is at 10:00 a.m.

† Morrison United Methodist Church, 200 W. Lincolnway, warmly invites all community members to join these services. During Palm Sunday, March 29, children and adults will carry a palm branch down the aisle and lay it near the altar. On Maundy Thursday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a dramatic gospel service, which focuses on Scripture readings and hymns related to the Last Supper. Celebrate Easter Sunday, April 5, with a 9:00 a.m. service, followed by an Easter Egg Hunt inside the church.
† Our Savior Lutheran Church-LCMS, 21496 Hazel Road, will hold a Palm Sunday, 9:00 a.m. service on March 29, with breakfast at 10:00. The Maundy Thursday, April 2, service and Holy Communion begin at 7:00 p.m. Easter Sunday service, April 5, is at 9:00 a.m. Coffee and treats follow.
† St. Mary Catholic Church, 13320 Garden Plain Road, will celebrate Palm Sunday, March 29, at 9:00 a.m., with members processing in the Sanctuary. On April 2 the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper is at 6:30 p.m., followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 7:00 to 9:00. Good Friday, April 3, offers a Solemn Liturgical Service of the Passion at 2:00 p.m., and Stations of the Cross will be at 6:00 p.m. Holy Saturday Easter Vigil Mass, on April 4, is at 7:30 p.m. Easter Sunday Resurrection of the Lord Mass, April 5, begins at 9:00 a.m. On Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12, Holy Hour and The Divine Mercy Chaplet begin at 2:00 p.m., with confessions from 2:05 to 2:40. Benediction will follow.
† St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church LC-MS, 601 N. Jackson Street, on Palm Sunday, March 29, at 9:30 a.m., the congregation will process with palms; the children’s choir will sing. On Maundy Thursday, April 2, there will be a Lord’s Supper service at 7:00 p.m. Included is Stripping of the Altar, symbolically representing Christ being stripped of his power and handed over to his captors. Holy Communion will be celebrated. Good Friday service is April 3, at 7:00 p.m. Easter Sunday Sunrise service, April 5, is at 7:00 a.m., followed by breakfast from 8:15 to 9:15. There is also a 9:30 service with Holy Communion; the choir will sing.
† Spring Valley Reformed Church, 10960 Spring Valley Road, on March 29, Palm Sunday service begins at 9:30 a.m. A combined 6:00 p.m. Maundy Thursday service will be held on April 2, including Spring Valley Reformed Church, First Christian Reformed Church, and First Reformed Church. The location is First Reformed Church, 510 15th Avenue, in Fulton, IL. The service includes Holy Communion. Easter Sunday Resurrection service on April 5 begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by coffee hour.
