Hannah Zinke was selected as the District FFA Proficiency Winner in Veterinary Science.  Hannah is a member of the Morrison, IL, FFA Chapter of Illinois Association FFA.  Illinois FFA recognizes students in 47 different areas, based on their work-based learning, also known as Supervised Agricultural Experiences, or SAE.  FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through record keeping, leadership, and scholastic achievement may be considered for this award.  SAEs allow students to learn by doing either by owning and operating an agricultural business, working or serving an internship at an agriculture-based business, or conducting an agriculture-based scientific experiment and reporting results.

Hannah was selected as District 1 Winner by a committee of agriculture industry representatives and teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area.  District 1 is a Northern Illinois conglomerate of 63 schools offering the FFA curriculum.  She is the daughter of Ryan and Melissa Zinke from Morrison.

Receiving this honor now makes her eligible to compete in the State FFA Awards Selection process in Decatur, IL, on Saturday, March 26, 2022.  Hannah was previously chosen as the Chapter and Section awardee is this area.

Hannah has been involved in the following other agriculture education and FFA activities:  Soils Judging, Veterinary Science CDE, and Agronomy CDE.

The Illinois Association FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students, by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.  Hannah is an example of the success that the FFA programs bring into the school.  This allows students to grow and achieve prior to entering the higher education levels.  Gabrielle McCormick is the Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor at Morrison High School.

Hannah will receive a plaque for her accomplishments.  These plaques are made possible by gifts by individuals, businesses, corporations, and organizations through the Illinois Foundation FFA.
