Yvonne Ruth Burkholder, 88, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 25, 2024, at her home in Morrison.
Yvonne was born November 27, 1935, in Morrison, to Walter and Rena (Rose) Doorenbos. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1953. On October 10, 1955, she married Dale A. Burkholder. He died December 31, 2006. Yvonne held a variety of jobs, including Volkmann Furniture and as a Bookkeeper at Workman Plumbing & Heating. She was a helpmate to her husband on the farm and a homemaker, raising six children. Yvonne enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Jim) Morrison, of Omaha, NE, and Deann (Rodney) Van Zuiden of Byron, IL; sons, Dean (Alicia) Burkholder of Morrison, David (Lori) Burkholder of Charlotte, IA, Daryl (Laurie) Burkholder of LeClaire, IA, and Daniel (Cyndi ) Burkholder of Bettendorf, IA; 12 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Longanecker and Karen (Dewey) Mulnix, both of Morrison; sister-in-law, Diana (Paul) Greiner of Portage, WI; brother-in-law, Dennis (Arlene) Burkholder of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; father- and mother-in-law; brother-in-law, Wayne Longanecker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, preceded by a Visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. Rich Criss, Ministry Coordinator at Emmanuel Church in Morrison, will officiate.
Interment will be in West Genesee Cemetery in Coleta, IL.
A memorial has been established to Gaffey Hospice, Sterling, IL.
