Beginning Saturday, January 5, 2019, the Figge Art Museum’s second-floor Mary Waterman Gildehaus Community Gallery will feature the artwork of local elementary art students, for the annual “Young Artists at the Figge” exhibition. The exhibition will kick-off with works by elementary art students from Pleasant Valley, IA, Schools.
Nine area school districts will be represented throughout the winter/spring. Each school district will have a recognition day for students.
Thanks to museum and donor support, admission for recognition days is free for student artists, teachers, family, and friends. Exhibitions are sponsored in part by the Brand Boeshaar Foundation Fund and the Hubbell-Waterman Foundation.

The exhibition will run through Sunday, May 5, but there will also be a Young Artist at the Figge Open House for all participating artists and their friends/families on Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., during Beaux Arts Fair weekend. Enjoy free admission and activities for all guests.
The Figge Art Museum is located on the Mississippi River in downtown Davenport, IA, at 225 W. Second Street. Hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and Sundays noon to 5:00 p.m. On Thursdays the museum is open until 9:00 p.m. Admission to the museum and tour is normally $10 for adults, $6 for Seniors and students with ID, and $4 for children ages 4-12, but will be free through Sunday, January 6, 2019. Admission is free to Figge members and institutional members, and always free to all on Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Figge Café is open 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday-through-Friday.
