On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, Dr. Bradley Yaklich announced the temporary closure of his optometry office, Vision Source Morrison, for routine eye care. He noted, “We will be on call in the event of an emergency. Please call our office at 815-772-7455 should you require emergency care. Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff, and community. In this unprecedented time, we are deeply committed to keeping everyone safe.
“In light of the evolving pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to open our office to essential medical eye care only, until Monday, May 18….This closure will allow us [to follow] the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance on social separation. If you have a routine vision appointment scheduled with us before that date, our office will be in touch to help reschedule your appointment.”
Regarding contact lens patients, Dr. Yaklich stated, “The State of Illinois has allowed us to extend prescriptions out for an additional six months. If you need contacts, please call the office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. Someone will assist you in ordering more contacts. Unfortunately, if your prescription is more than six months expired, we can not order more contacts at this time.”
He concluded, “Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team, and our community. We wish you continued health and strength during this challenging time.”
