Morrison Varsity Wrestling Coach Tony Wright submitted the following report from meets against St. Bede of Peru, IL, and Orion, IL, on Wednesday evening, January 22, 2014.
The Mustang High School Varsity wrestlers earned themselves two more Conference victories by defeating St. Bede of Peru, IL, and Orion, IL. The two wins mark a new milestone for the wrestling program. Mustang Wrestling tops 20 dual meet victories for the first time in team history! The victory over Orion marks the 8th team victory over State-ranked opponents and improves the team record to 20-9.
The Mustang wrestlers have three more opportunities to improve on their record. They compete at home against Stillman Valley and West Caroll on Tuesday, January 28, (Senior Night) and at Rock Falls, IL, on Wednesday, January 29.
The team will also be in action on Saturday, January 25, at the Bob Lueders Invitational in Clinton, IA.
