Winnifred J. Kettler, 96, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Harbor Crest Home, Fulton.
Winnie was born February 14, 1919, in Marengo, IL, to Garrett M. and Gertrude (Buikema) Kettler. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1937 graduate of Fulton High School. Winnie was employed by the former Clinton Garment Company in Clinton, IA, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Fulton and active in the church’s Sunday school ministry. She was a member of Fulton and Clinton bowling leagues.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Pauline Kettler of Dixon, IL, and Marge Kettler of Morrison, IL; three nieces, Diane (Arvid) Housenga of Fulton, Sherry (Norm) Asbury of Dixon, IL, and JoAnn (Jeff) Shugart of Lansing, KS; two nephews, Steven (Jeanne) Koenes of Lino Lakes, MN, and Edward Koenes of Pittsburg, MO; seven great-nieces and -nephews, Michael (Missy) Housenga, Jodie (Ahmad) Sharifinejad, Craig Koenes, Katie (Mike) Walker, Michelle Thompson, Josh (Becky) Thompson, and Kevin Ashbury; five great-great-nieces and -nephews, Mia and Mitchell Housenga; Rogan and Finley Walker; Alex Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Gertrude Kettler, Annalene Koenes, and Bernice Vannini; three brothers, Dwight, Paul, and LeRoy Kettler.
