Volunteer Millers and Educators of the de Immigrant Windmill area will host various activities to celebrate the approaching Christmas Season. During the annual Fulton, IL, Christmas Walk on Friday, December 1, 2017, unique activities will be offered.
At the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Avenue, Miller Claus will greet you at the door with a traditional candy cane treat.
The Dutch favorite, Sinterklaas, awaits to have your photo taken with him as you whisper your wishes in his ear. Photographer Beth Wiersema will be available. Photos may be purchased for $5 each, plus $1 shipping if needed. Homemade mill flour treats may be sampled throughout the evening.
Several performances of Christmas music will usher in the season.
- Noteworthy choir from Fulton High School will perform from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m.
- Sadie Norman will share violin selections of holiday favorites from 6:00 to 6:30.
- The Morrison High School Dodeca group will round off the evening from 6:30 to 7:00.
Noteworthy is a 16-member Show Choir group composed of talented Fulton High students. Primarily, this group specializes in jazz, pop, and acapella musical selections. They practice on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:25 to 8:00 a.m. before the school day begins. Shawn Anton is Director for Noteworthy.
Sadie Norman, a sophomore at Fulton High, has played violin for several years. Her solo selections will focus on traditional Christmas music. Sadie is the daughter of Keith and Vicki Norman.
Dodeca is a new 12-member vocal group from Morrison High School. The group sings acapella and will entertain with a variety of holiday selections. Maria Brown directs choral activities at Morrison Junior High and High School.
There will be other Christmas Walk activities and events in the Windmill area to welcome the season. Come join the celebration.
