Wilma J. Johannsen, 81, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, February 15, 2019, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison.
Wilma was born June 19, 1937, in Garden Plain, IL, to Cornelius and Winnie (Prins) Medendorp. She was educated in the Fulton, IL, grade schools and was a graduate of Erie High School in Erie, IL. She married Harlan E. Johannsen on September 19, 1964, in Fulton. He died on September 19, 2015. Wilma was employed by Whiteside FS Inc. (now GoldStar FS) in bookkeeping for 32 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison; she served as Secretary of the Fellowship and Study Work Circle. Wilma was a member of the Morrison American Legion Post #328 Auxiliary. Wilma enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and friends.
Survivors include one son, Keith (Amy) Johannsen of Morrison; two grandsons, Kelby and Avery Johannsen; one brother, Vernon (Janet) Medendorp of Garden Plain, IL; a special friend, Sharon Appel of Morrison.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Leona Kramer; one brother, Harold Medendorp.
Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Ken Renkes officiating.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to the Camelot Therapeutic Day School of the Quad Cities, where her grandson attends school.
