William J. “Bill” Norman, 77, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the Morrison Community Hospital.
Bill was born September 29, 1937, in Sterling, IL, to William G. and Edna M. (Bush) Norman. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1956 graduate of Morrison High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Bill married Frances J. Sullivan on June 10, 1961, in Clinton, IA. He was first employed by the former Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Most recently he was employed by General Electric in Morrison, for 42 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and had served as a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the Double I Antique Auto Club. Bill enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren at the family cabin in Minocqua, WI.
Survivors include his wife, Fran; four sons, William Mark Norman of Wesley Chapel, FL, Kurt Norman of Morrison, Kevin Norman of St. Charles, IL, Eric (Sara) Norman of St. Charles; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Faye Jansma of Morrison and Lynne (Darrell) Buikema of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Steven and Bradley Norman, in infancy.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
