Although it is unclear how to do so, local runners have a month to train for this unique event. Sponsored by Wild Core Events, the Wildman is a “mud run.” It is hosted by Wild Core Events in Morrison, IL, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This obstacle/mud run has both 5k and a 10k courses. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Morrison Athletic Boosters and the Semper Fi Fund for injured military veterans and their familes. link to our registration
The elite “chipped timed” races are $110. These heats are for competitors that want to “race” and have fewer participants 150 max so as to avoid clusters and keep them moving.The regular heats are manually timed and cost $80 to participate. These heats will be slightly larger and max out at 250 people per heat. The minimum age requirement is 16 years old and a parent/guardian must be present day of the event.There will be approximately 20 obstacles and challenges on the course. These will be a variety of man made and natural terrain features.There will be music all day will live bands, dj and an emcee hosting the event.There will be a variety of food offerings and refreshments for sale as well.Parking is available. Carpooling is encouraged. Fully occupied cars are free.
