Meet the Instructor–Wednesday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Will Studer, a professional Technology Consultant, will soon be teaching new classes at the Senior Center. These sessions are free. We will discuss a lot of things with question-and-answer time and ask for input on classes to have. The meetings are open to all ages.
Craft your Cane!
Voting starts Friday, October 4, and the winner will be announced at the Health Fair on Thrusday, October 10. Be creative! Decorate your cane and maybe win a prize.
Health and Information Fair–Thursday, October 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Medicare Information Class–Friday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m.
The basic information that we provide will help our community members, who are new to Medicare and those who want more information, to make informed decisions when it comes to their options with Medicare. Our Outreach Department staff are trained Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) volunteer counselors. SHIP is a free counseling service provided by the Illinois Department of Insurance. National Diabetes Month–Wednesday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m.

Beginners Scrapbooking Class–Thursday, October 17, at 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $5 for materials. Bring scissors, double-sided tape or glue stick, and four-to-six pictures that we will use. Double-sided tape and cutter will be for sale that day, or we can order them for the next class. Call 815-622-9230 to register.
“It’s Showtime”–Friday, October 18, at 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $5 for lunch; the movie and popcorn are free. The movie is “42.” It tells the life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers, under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey. The movie is sponsored by Whiteside Homecare.
Halloween Costume Party–Thursday, October 31, at 12:30 p.m.
Wear a costume for Halloween and maybe win a prize! Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. We will play Halloween Bingo and may give Halloween prizes.
