Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, wants to know your favorite books. No, the library is not asking for a book report or book review, only a few lines on a card will do.
The library wants its readers to write two or three sentences on a small card about a favorite read. Maybe it is a new book that has enticed you or an older book that now sits in the stacks. Just take a few minutes and fill out the card.
Cards will then be placed on the shelf, in front of the book, much like a bookstore. Employees of a bookstore often read a book and then make a short recommendation. Odell is trying this idea, not only with the newer books, but also those older favorites.
Won’t it be interesting to the community to visit the library and see the picks and recommendations of Odell’s readers? Who knows? Maybe each of us will find a new gem to read!
