“We Honor Veterans” Program Honors Hospice Patients

Posted by

TedMoodyPinningHospice of the Rock River Valley is a partner in the “We Honor Veterans” program.

This is in conjunction with the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

“We Honor Veterans” is designed to assist hospices in meeting and understanding the needs of veterans who are receiving hospice care.

The goal is to comfort and honor patients with a history of military service and experience.

Veteran volunteers are an excellent resource to our veteran patients.

They offer respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgement of the patient’s experiences and service to their Country.

A recent pinning was conducted by our veteran volunteer Dan Smith (standing) for Ted Moody, a WWII veteran, in honor of his service in the United States Army.
