Watch Fran Riley at Morrison’s Heritage Museum

Posted by

You would have thought that Riep Brands had departed the past and walked into the present, when KWQC TV6 features commentator Fran Riley visited Morrison’s Heritage Museum, on Friday, June 23, 2017.   Shortly after 11:00 a.m., Riley and his creative photography staff entered the museum, at 202 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL.  The newsman expected to interview Morrison Historical Society Board President Harvey Zuidema.  Instead, the personification of Brands guided him to items manufactured in Morrison, once billed as “The City of Friendly Enterprise.”

The visitors toured the museum for two hours, and Riley took photos for his own collection, including the extensive collection of Rich Toys.  Brands/Zuidema led the KWQC guests to see Annan Mill on U. S. Route 30.  No photos were taken at this venue, but Riley will return in the future.

“Riley is very interested in Morrison,” Zuidema reported.  “He was fascinated with the Hearth Room and the history of the building, which was a Congregational Church, Morrison Literary and Scientific Association, and–for over 100 years–the Odell Public Library.”  Zuidema discussed Morrison’s prominence as The Greenhouse Capital.

The Museum interview will be broadcast on Channel 6, Monday, June 26, between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m.  If you were not able to watch then, visit http://www.kwqc.com to view Fran Riley Features….
