Mayor Everett Pannier announced Monday, February 21, 2016, there is an approaching Aldermanic vacancy in Ward 1. Michael Blean is moving outside the City limits and must vacate the position he has held into a second term. Blean’s resignation is effective Friday, March 25; his last official meeting will be Monday, March 14.
Mayor Pannier will appoint a replacement to fill Blean’s term, until the election in April 2017. He urges interested residents of Ward 1 to write a letter or send an email to him, stating a desire to serve as Alderman and listing specific qualifications.
