Walter Gene Spenny, 68, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center South, Clinton, IA.
Walter was born October 7, 1946, in Indianapolis, IN, to Willis Glen and Luetta Adelaide (Holtz) Spenny. He graduated from the Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis and then completed the General Electric apprentice program for Tool and Die. He served four years in the U. S. Air Force. Walter married Kathleen E. Knutsen on September 19, 1975, in DeWitt, IA. He enjoyed a drafting career for 30 years in tooling for GE in Morrison, before retiring in 1999 for health reasons. Walter was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. He enjoyed model railroading and belonged to two clubs: the Tuesday Night Club and the Thursday Club that have been active for almost 45 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy, and his children, two daughters, Lisa (Justin) Tillman of Naperville, IL, and Nichol (Jay) Garrison of Apache Junction, AZ; one son, Andrew (Cassie) Spenny of North Aurora, IL; five grandchildren, Riley and Macie Spenny, Collin and Cara Tillman, and Jacob DiGiacomo; one sister, Nancy (Dale) Knight of Tacoma, WA; one brother, Keith (Dottie) Bundy of West Lafayette, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

VISITATION: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
