The Sterling, IL, Walmart Transportation Office selected Morrison Junior High School, 300 Academic Drive, Morrison, IL, to receive a $1000 donation, as part of Walmart’s support of local communities. On Thursday, December 19, 2019, at 8:45 a.m. an oversized replica of the financial gift was presented in the school lobby.
During 2019, Walmart Transportation Offices contributed more than $100,000 to schools. Principal Joe Robbins explained the money will be earmarked for the student rewards account, for field trips, busses, overnight lock-ins, etc.
Private Fleet truck drivers for Walmart–“already among the safest drivers in the Country,” drove extra carefully during the week, from July 20 through July 26. For every accident-free mile they drove, Walmart made a financial contribution of one cent, to local schools in the home region of each Transportation Office. A school will receive $1000 and as much at $2000, based on the safety performance of local drivers.
