Dana Nelson, Whiteside County Clerk, announced that “grace period registration” for residents who did not register to vote by the Tuesday, October 9, 2018, deadline will be available, now through Tuesday, November 6, for the upcoming General Election on November 6, 2018.
- Voters who register during the grace period must register in the office of the County Clerk and must cast their ballot that same day.
- People registering during the grace period cannot vote at their polling place on Election Day.
When registering to vote, two forms of identification are required; one must show the current address of the applicant.
Individuals may register and vote in person during normal office hours (Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and also on Saturdays, October 27, or November 3, from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Clerk’s office, at Whiteside County Courthouse, 200 E. Knox Street, Morrison, IL
