Early American Crafters, left-to-right, Brian Tomman, the late Don Miensma, and Annis Beargathered after the September 2015 Fall Festival event at Wierenga’s Heritage Canyon, 515 N. 4th Street, Fulton, IL. The Crafters are volunteers who organize seasonal events at Heritage Canyon. They range in age from grade schoolers to those in their 70’s.
Some members are shown at a 2015 meeting. They were honored by Fulton Chamber of Commerce for their community efforts.
Their shared passion is to bring to life 11 buildings within the former quarry and foster the mission of the late Harold and Thelma Wierenga:
- teaching the public about our shared past
- appreciating and safeguarding the natural surroundings of the canyon.
Interested parties of all ages are invited to call Carol Fritz at 563-249-3728, Marc Gravert at 815-772-3175, or Liz Rice-Keller at 563-212-5741. The Early American Crafters thank you for your interest in Illinois history.
