Posted by

Morrison Emmanuel Reformed Church’s 90-voice “Voices of Praise”cordially invites the area to celebrate with them, as they present their tenth annual Spring Music Celebration.  It will be presented in three performances, in the sanctuary of the church, 202 E. Morris Street, Morrison, IL:

  • Friday, April 7, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 8, at 3:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 9, at 7:00 p.m.

No tickets are needed for this 70-minute concert; a free-will offering will be received.  All ages are welcome.  The church is handicapped accessible.  A fellowship hour will follow all performances, hosted by the women of Emmanuel.

A free shuttle bus will be provided, for one hour prior to and following all three performances.  The bus will pick up from Ebenezer Reformed Church’s parking lot, just two blocks south of Emmanuel’s campus, dropping you off at the curb in front of Emmanuel.

Director and “Voices of Praise” founder Rich Criss said, “This amazing program highlights what I feel are the best 12 songs we have sung during past Spring concerts.  Some of these songs are Brooklyn Tabernacle’s ‘I’m Amazed’ and ‘Thou, O Lord,’ Christ Church’s ‘Lord, You’re Holy’ and ‘I Will Glory in the Cross,’ the Hopper’s ‘Yahweh,’ Mandisa’s ‘Shackles,’ Laura Story’s ‘Blessings,’ an amazing arrangement of ‘The Lord’s Prayer,’ and others that have made an impact on past audiences.  EVOP has literally been moved to tears, raised their hands in worship, and truly had church during the rehearsals that are leading up to this weekend.  It is a program that you truly do not want to miss!”

“Where possible, original soloists are singing the songs they first sang.  Megan (Morthland) Bares will be returning to Morrison for this special weekend, along with current EVOP members Tonia Ernst, Ed Pruis, Rich Criss, and Brittany VanDrew, who will reprise their solos.  As you listen, there will be times when some of you will want to clap your hands or tap your feet.  Others will simply smile.  Most of you, at some point, will have tears in your eyes.  Our prayer is that no one will leave our sanctuary the same way they came in.”
