Celebrating its 11th season, Emmanuel’s 85-voice Voices of Praise–an outreach ministry of Emmanuel Reformed Church–cordially invites the area to experience its Christmas presentation, “Adore!” It will be presented in three performances, Friday and Sunday evenings, December 15 and 17, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday afternoon, December 16, at 3:00 p.m. All concerts take place in the beautifully decorated sanctuary of Emmanuel Reformed Church, 202 E. Morris Street, Morrison, IL.
Having rehearsed since Monday, September 11, the EVOP group is ready. They will present this exciting production to an expected audience of 1200.
Under the direction of Ministry Coordinator Rich Criss, “Voices of Praise” is comprised of those from the 50-voice Sanctuary Choir of Emmanuel Reformed Church, as well as members of other churches in a 35-mile radius of Morrison. Members travel from Clinton, IA; Sterling, Chadwick, Hanover, Rock Falls, Milledgeville, Fulton, and Mt. Carroll, IL. All members have come together unified under one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to share the story of Christmas through powerful music.
“Adore!” is a collection of great musical variety.
- There are wonderful arrangements of familiar carols like “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Joy to the World,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “The First Noel,” and “O Holy Night.”
- Contemporary worship music fans will love Laura Story’s “Just Another Christmas,” Kari Jobe’s “When Hope Came Down,” and Chris Tomlin’s “Jesus Messiah.”
- For the classical music lover, there is a gorgeous arrangement of Pachelbel’s Canon in D with Christmas words.
- For a good laugh, a surprise piece will have you laughing through the song!
No tickets are needed for the concerts, which last just over an hour. A free-will offering will be received. All ages are welcome, and the church is handicapped accessible.
A fellowship hour will follow performances, hosted by the women of Emmanuel.
A free shuttle bus will be provided for one hour prior to, and following, all three performances. This bus will pick up from Ebenezer Reformed Church’s parking lot, just two blocks south of Emmanuel’s campus, dropping you off at the curb in front of Emmanuel. This convenient service will ease your parking.
