vivian tenboerVivian M. Tenboer, 82, of Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Mercy Living Center North, Clinton.

Vivian was born June 12, 1932, in Clinton, to Albert and Ruby R. (Hook) Bokholdt. She was educated in the Erie, IL, and Morrison grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. Vivian married Kenneth B. Tenboer on November 16, 1951, in Morrison. He died May 7, 2012. Vivian was first employed by General Electric in Morrison and later was a school bus driver for R. C. Smith Transportation in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the church’s Ladies Aid Society and Philathea. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and school events, especially anything musical. She was very musical, loving to play the organ, piano, and accordion. Vivian also enjoyed bird watching, especially the hummingbirds and wrens. She loved to travel with her husband to the many insurance conventions he attended. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her pies.

Survivors include three daughters, Lynda (Roger) VanderVinne of Rochester, IN; Sandra Kallenbach of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA: and Debra (Edwin) Bielema of Fulton, IL; one son, Robert (Daniele) Tenboer of Morrison; ten grandchildren, Angela (Allen) Danko, Andrew VanderVinne, Katelyn Kallenbach, Nicholas (Angela) Bielema, Jennifer (Teddy) Benfit, Julie (Christopher) Cramer, Erica Bielema, Jason (Jody) Tenboer, Alicia (Michael) VanHorn, and Megan Tenboer; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Arnie) Tiesman of Grand Rapids, MI; Barb (Irv) Prins of Morrison; Mrs. Ruth Tenboer of Morrison; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; one sister, Emma Hanson; one brother, Allan Bokholdt.

VISITATION:  4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT:  Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
